Elana Kuperferman, Veterinary Assistant

Elana, a veterinary assistant, has a deep desire to work with animals and their caretakers. She is very passionate about what she does and is working towards becoming a veterinarian.

“When I was 6 my parents took in a neighbor’s black lab, but she was only allowed downstairs. I spent every waking moment downstairs with her, and thus my love and enthusiasm for animals began. Soon, she was allowed full rein of the house and in the years that followed, I cared for countless dogs, cats, turtles, frogs, fish and ants.”

Elana continues to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. Today, she serves as a veterinary assistant at Pacific Petcare.

Experience

Elana obtained a B.S. in Physiology and Neuroscience from UCSD. She is currently applying to veterinary school. She has served as a volunteer for several small animal clinics and shelters over the past 6 years, and used to work with wildlife at a refuge in the Amazonian Jungle.

Elana has fostered more than 40 small dogs, two of which she has adopted permanently.

Just For Fun

“When I am not working or spending time with my own pets, I love to kayak, hike and just spend time outdoors. I also travel whenever I can. My most recent adventures have been to South Africa.”
